Fredrik Skåtar is an architectural researcher and lecturer and is currently an adjunct professor at the DIA—Dessau Institute of Architecture, Germany and a part-time researcher at the school of architecture at LTH, Lund University, Sweden. Previously, he was an adjunct professor at the faculty of design and art at the Free University of Bolzano, Italy and the Department of Design in Dessau, Germany.
Fredrik Skåtar regularly holds lectures and conducts research field trips for companies from the architectural sector. His lectures revolve around promoting architecture and especially its artistic components. His field trips focus on urban design and architecture in Berlin, Hamburg and Stuttgart, Germany and Antwerp, Ghent and Brussels, Belgium.
Fredrik Skåtar is an expert in algorithmically controlled design processes and regularly conducts workshops for the automotive sectors. He has supported the design teams of Technicon, Calidat, Hyundai, and Volkswagen.
From 2007 to 2010, Fredrik Skåtar was a project managing architect at Studio Olafur Eliasson in Berlin. There, he was involved in the realisation of a wide range of renowned artworks and architectural designs. From 2005 to 2007, he worked for Tema Architects in Sweden, designing commercial, residential and public buildings.
Fredrik Skåtar studied oil painting and sculpture at Wik, Sweden, and architecture at ENSAPLV in Paris, UdK in Berlin and the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.
