Since 2007, Skåtar Architecture & Design has realised the ideas of clients, focusing on algorithmic geometries, production methods and exhibition design.
Fredrik Skåtar has created a series of courses that stretch over one or two academic semesters. These follow his design philosophy of striving for a symbiosis between artistic expression, technology and function/application. Additionally, they aim for taking all scales into account.

architecture project for bachelor and master students
exploring geometry, technology and materials for novel light ideas
a course / project where one small scale engagement automatically brings about discussion about a larger scale. In order to revitalise a forgotten corner in the city, students create a catalyst which has a positive effect locally and city-wide.
mediating your idea fast and clear: This workshop teaches its participants how to assemble the best pieces of a project into a simple visual and verbal presentation, primarily using Photoshop and InDesign
It has been part of the curriculum at LTH School of architecture.
- online repititions of workshop lectures
a goal-oriented course designed to be given weekly, over one semester. The main focus is parametric design, integrating Grasshopper into the design process.
It has been part of the curriculum at LTH School of architecture and at the faculties of design and architecture in Dessau
workshops on Grasshopper parametric design, custom-made for the automotive industry
Until now, it has been given at Hyundai and Volkswagen
a one week crash course on geometry and digital design (primarily using Rhinoceros). Students transform platonic solids into their own polyhedral design and finally put these into a context
It has been part of the curriculum at LTH School of Architecture, the Departments of Design and DIA in Dessau
Comments from students
Fredrik Skåtar has created goal-oriented workshops that can be given weekly or as a crash course over 5 or 10 days. The main ambition is to integrate digital design methods into the participants' design processes.

The Belgian capital is still deeply affected by its Brusselization but the city is in constant change, especially in the areas adjacent to its canal.
the widely debated infrastructure project Stuttgart21 is taking form. How will this change the region? The city offers a wide range of architectural highlights; from Weissenhof to Porsche and Mercedes.
What has changed since the divided city united? Which are its future plans?
on site, closer look at city planning and architecture in selected European cities. Organised regularly for architectural, engineering and real-estate companies. We meet with architects and developers of selected projects.

the stunning Flemish city offers a unique variety of both old and new architecture. In the years to come, several new small and large developments are planned.
The city of Antwerp has Europe's perhaps most innovative city planning concept, developed by Secchi Viganò. This, along with the Bouwmeester system creates sustainable architecture for the future.
a summary of Fredrik Skåtar's research.
Fredrik Skåtar's research is also the philosophy of his studio. Both are grounded in an attitude towards architecture and design which can be described as traditional and at the same time it embraces contemporary technology; artistic expression, functionality and context are to be realised through the most efficient technology available - a view which is not as self-evident as it might seem.
Fredrik Skåtar continuously researches on geometrical solutions to design problems, foremost aided by Grasshopper for Rhinoceros 3d
